Castle Crags seems a freak of nature, ecosystems from all over Northern California meet in an unusual congregation, a diversity that can not be found anyplace else in the world. Because of the visual beauty available everyplace you look in this "Garden of Eden" the smaller things can often be overlooked, such as 12 species of orchids and a lot of plants that are unique to the the crags.
